Making a Dancing Pot is like observing clouds changing formations. They change shapes and depth as if a child’s mind is playing in the mud. It is fun to see the way my unexplored creativity wells out. It is a way of making pots on the wheel and combining the pinch pot method to alter a thrown piece.
It will have a sculptedquality within the traditional craft of pottery making.
Different levels of wavy patterns are related to each other like wind sweeping a field of grass and a strong foreground and background are created.
One of the three legs sometime appears like an elephant trunk, and a wavy top looks like a pair of its ears. Once you start seeing an elephant the fun starts. You can see different elephant characters in each pot and when you see a grouping of them you can actually imagine a heard grazingthrough a field in Africa.
Dancing Pots are flower-arranging vases which take you away from traditional flower arranging concepts and give you freedom to go into your wondrous imagination.
